CANADA ANNOUNCES PLAN TO LAND A ROVER ON THE MOON

The Canadian Space Agency says the unmanned robotic vehicle will aim to gather images and measurements on the moon’s surface.
The mission, in partnership with NASA, hopes to have the rover make it through an entire lunar night (which lasts about 2-weeks) and presents major technological challenges due to the cold and dark.

A request for proposals on design and development from two Canadian companies in the coming months.
Astronaut David Saint-Jacques will be among the candidates for the lone Canadian spot on a four-person mission to travel around the moon in the next few years.
