Nominations are now open for Toronto’s inaugural Indigenous Artist Award.
The Toronto Arts Foundation has created the award to mark the beginning of national Indigenous History Month. It ties in with the organization’s annual Community Arts Award.
It comes on the sombre news of last week’s grim discovery of the remains of 215 children at Canada’s largest residential schools.
The Foundation says there is much we can do to elevate the voices of Indigenous Artists.
