The Trudeau government is hoping to ease some restrictions in stages starting next month.
Fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents returning home will no longer be required to stay at a hotel for part of their quarantine.
However, they will have to stay isolation until their COVID-19 test comes back negative.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu says the plan depends on case counts.
”We’ll be watching carefully here in Canada and around the world as cases change and as vaccination rates rise,” she adds.
Sources say more details about lifting restrictions for the wider population are still undecided.
