It may be a holiday but Toronto’s vaccination efforts continue.
The city now has 45% of adults fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
That was the Canada Day goal by the province’s science table for Delta variant hotspots like Toronto.
Toronto officials say the city has also reached its highest seven-day vaccination average, with nearly 51-thousand-900 doses administered per day.
“We opened up some 375,000 new appointments earlier this week for people to take advantage of to get vaccinated,” said Toronto mayor John Tory when dropping by a vaccination clinic at Cloverdale Mall. “101,000 people signed up for the first tranche of those appointments on the very first day.”
The province moved into stage two of its economic reopening on Wednesday. The current plan is for the province to move into stage three 21 days after moving into stage two.
