It didn’t take long for Toronto to start expanding walk-in capacity at its city run clinics.
They started a pilot project on Thursday at the Toronto Congress Centre in Etobicoke where about 2,000 doses of mRNA vaccines were made available and now more centres have begun allowing walk ins.
Just over 300 people took advantage of the walk-in vaccine offer on that first day.
Walk-ins are now being accepted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Hangar and the Cloverdale Mall to anyone over the age of 18.
Shots will be available for those without an appointment from noon until 7pm.
Toronto is closing in on having 80% of eligible residents with one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine with more than 50% fully vaccinated.
