Ontario is reporting 166 new cases of COVID-19 today. It’s the third day in a row with fewer than 200 new cases.
It’s also the lowest one-day total since September 9th.
Locally, 28 of the cases are each in Waterloo and Toronto and 18 each in Peel and Grey Bruce.
Nearly 19,700 tests were performed in this latest update.
More than 170,500 doses of vaccines were also administered. Ontario is close to passing 17-million doses of vaccines given out.
The province says 202 COVID-19 patients are currently in intensive care units, with 132 of those on ventilators.
Due to the rising numbers of vaccinated patients and decreasing infections, Ontario moves into its next stage of reopening this coming Friday. That’s five days ahead of first scheduled.
