As she opened her Toronto Centre campaign office, Annamie Paul says she will not be distracted by the ongoing internal Green party dispute.
”These are the actions of a small group of outgoing councillors. This was not an action sanctioned by our federal council, it is not an action that came before our federal council,” according to Paul.
”I am just asking for people to just have patience as we transition, and we are in a big transition. I am not going to be distracted any further from that work that has to be done.
An arbitrator decided to quash a non-confidence vote against Paul scheduled for July 20 and call off a review of her party membership.
The Green Party and its associated fund are asking Ontario Superior Court to pause the arbitrator’s decision until after the party elects a new federal council August 19.
Paul is not saying if she intends to file a response in court.
