There is yet a new chapter in the unfolding saga of infighting in the Federal Green Party.

Court filings reveal lawyers for the Green Party of Canada want to overturn arbitration orders that paused any threat to Annamie Paul’s leadership.

The legal maneuver ends a brief ceasefire between Green Party executive members and leader Annamie Paul ahead of a likely fall federal election.

“I’m not leading a faction, I’m not interested in a feud or any sort of infighting whatsoever,” Paul told Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer.

She also would not get into what’s happening behind the scenes, instead focusing on being positive and forward moving.

“I can understand people having questions. That’s completely normal and totally expected after what they have seen in the last little while. But I would encourage them all to look to the future. This is a time of renewal for our party. We have a brand new federal council that will be coming in next month. We have a brand new shadow cabinet, and this is the most qualified and talented and diverse shadow cabinet, I would say, period.”

Paul intends to run in the riding of Toronto Centre, where she came second to Liberal Marci Ien in a federal by-election this past year.
