COVID-19 in Canada is now a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
Providing evidence of this, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told a Tuesday news conference, only half of one percent of COVID cases being recorded are in fully vaccinated individuals.
In other words, 99.5 percent of COVID cases in Canada are among the unvaccinated.
The Trudeau Liberals are also offering reassurance that they are working on a federal COVID-19 vaccine passport which will provide the necessary credentials for Canadians to travel around the world.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu says they are working with the provinces and territories to standardize proof of vaccination, but it’s not clear yet, what that will look like.
To date, Ontario’s premier Doug Ford has said the province won’t be issuing a separate vaccine passport or certificate. He says the proof of vaccination emailed to residents after their vaccines is all that is necessary to access businesses or events within the province.
