The Taylor-Massey neighbourhood in Toronto’s east end has some of the lowest vaccination rates in the city.

While the city announced a new vaccine milestone of 70 percent fully vaccinated, the Taylor-Massey area near Victoria Park and Danforth is at just 60 percent and only 48 percent are fully vaccinated, while across the rest of the city, that number is 80 percent.

“We are putting on a Home Stretch Vaccine push in the Taylor-Massey neighbourhood,” said Mayor John Tory. “We’re going neighbourhood by neighbourhood to try and encourage people who have not yet been vaccinated first or second dose.”

Tory says residents 12 and older can visit one of nine mobile pop up clinics Saturday and Sunday for first or second doses.

The clinics, which will be open to walk-ins to anyone with an “M” postal code, will administer mostly Pfizer with some supply of Moderna to those who request it.

All clinics will offer free grocery or food gift cards for first doses and first dose referrals, while Shoppers World Danforth will also feature on-site music, free ice cream and coffee, as well as other exciting give-aways.
