The revitalization of Ontario Place may take until 2030, but the province has unveiled plans for what it’ll look like once it reopens.
They include a year round park featuring pools, water slides, obstacle courses, ziplines, climbing walls and other activities.
The Budweiser Stage will be transformed into a venue that will have room for up to 20,000 in the summer and around 9,000 in winter.
Doug Ford promises the land will not be sold, that there will be no casino, no condos while the Cinesphere, pods and Trillium Park will remain.
Toronto Mayor John Tory says the revitalization has been a long time coming, ”too long, but sometimes it’s like saying ‘good food takes time,’ maybe to get it right you have to spend the time to do it.  It’s a provincially owned site but it matters very much to the city because it’s a very important part, has been for many years, of our waterfront.
First opened in 1971, Ontario Place closed in 2012 after years of declining attendance.
