Justin Trudeau has unveiled what his party will do for long term care, if re-elected. The Liberal leader says his government would invest $9-billion in long-term care and raise the minimum wage for personal support workers to at least $25 per hour. It also includes a plan to train 50,000 more PSW’s.

In addition to staffing, the money will create more long term care beds, improve facilities and increase infection prevention.

He’s also calling for a Safe Long Term Care Act to ensure long term care standards are upheld across the country.

And for seniors who live at home, the Liberals plan to double the home accessibility tax credit to $20,000. He made the announcement during a campaign stop in Victoria.
