With 6 days until the federal election, a new poll shows a complete deadlock in voter support between Justin Trudeau’s Liberals and Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives.

The Leger survey shows both parties tied at 32 percent, with the Jagmeet Singh New Democrats in third with 20 percent support.

Pollster Nik Nanos has been doing daily tracking.

Tuesday morning’s numbers suggest the Liberals are at 32.3 percent, Conservatives at 31.2 and New Democrats at 18.9 with the Green Party lagging at 3.8 percent suport.

Nanos told The Morning Zoom with Sam and Jane on Zoomer Radio, what’s more relevant is the breakdown of support by riding.

“One of the challenges the Conservatives have is that they have all of these seats in the prairies where they win them by 10, 20, 30 percent, so it’s fairly inefficient. So with numbers like these, we’re probably looking at a Liberal minority government,” Nanos explained, “In our internal seat projections, it suggests that between 70 to 80 seats out of the 338 are still too close to call and are a statistical toss up.”

The leaders are back on the campaign trail Tuesday after spending yesterday sharpening their attacks, with O’Toole painting his opponent as privileged and entitled saying while Justin Trudeau was “partying,” he was doing search-and-rescue missions in the military.

Trudeau accused O’Toole of engaging in “personal attacks,” and insisted his own actions could not be compared to the Conservative leader’s, even while arguing O’Toole has “proxies” in the anti-vaxxer movement, without providing specific evidence of this.
