Did you get the Comirnaty shot?
Many Canadians did only it was called the Pfizer- BioNTech vaccine until now.
In fact, at the request of the drug manufacturers, Health Canada has also approved new names for the Moderna and Oxford-AstraZeneca products.
The Pfizer shot is now known as Comirnaty, which the company says is a combination of COVID-19, mRNA, community and immunity.
Moderna will go by SpikeVax and AstraZeneca will be named Vaxzevria.
Although the name change has been approved, Canada will continue receiving vials labelled Pfizer-BioNTech for the next few months.
Health Canada stresses only the names are changing not the vaccines.
The new names are already being used in the U.S. and EU.
