Newfoundland and Labrador musicians are bringing the folk tradition of ‘the Rock’ to Come From Away.

Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, Rosemary Lawton and The Navigators are among the homegrown artists adding their twist to songs from the hit musical in Covers from Away.

The musical’s co-creators produced the cover album, recorded in various locations across Newfoundland and Labrador last summer.

The Tony award winning musical tells the true story of a Newfoundland community that took in thousands of passengers whose flights were grounded in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
