Despite making only minor gains in the make up of the new minority Parliament, Jagmeet Singh says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is aware of his party’s priorities to make things work.
”If it’s something that’s going to help people out, make people’s lives better, we’ll not hesitate ot provide support to get things done, and he knows my priorities,” said the NDP leader after speaking to Trudeau Monday night.
Asked what he wants from Trudeau in exchange for supporting the Liberals minority government, Singh says they have to prioritize health care and focus on ending the pandemic.
”We didn’t get into those details, but I made it clear if it’s something around anything we promised to deliver on, [like] pharmacare, something we care deeply about, we’ll work to make that happen.”
With the final tally not expected later this week, the NDP will remain in fourth-place; elected or leading in 25 ridings, which is one more they they won in the 2019 election.
