After telling its members not to reveal their COVID-19 vaccination status, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113, has done an about face the day after the TTC filed an application to take them to the Ontario Labour Relations Board and have the action deemed an illegal strike.
Local President Carlos Santos says the union has made its message heard ”loud and clear” and he’s now advising them to comply with the TTC’s policy to disclose their immunization status on or by September 30.
This follows weeks of the union executive advising its 12,000 members to do the opposite.
In a statement TTC CEO Rick Leary says in light of this development, the deadline for all transit commission employees to reveal their status is being extended to October 6.
