Metrolinx says it does not plan to require passengers to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before they ride.
The Toronto transit company that operates trains and buses says it would be too difficult to mandate vaccines for travellers on both GO transit and the UP express trains for logistical reasons.
Spokesman James Wattie says the company was concerned some might think a proof of vaccination was required after the federal government announced plans to mandate them for travellers on trains.
Face masks are mandatory on all Metrolinx vehicles and a mandatory vaccine policy is in effect for all staff.
