The NDP in Ontario has never been in as strong a financial position than it is now.
The party’s raised just over $2-million at the end of September with the average contribution of slightly more than $29 – meaning nearly 70,000 individual donations.
”These folks share Andrea Horwath’s vision for a government that’s finally in it for everyday families,” according to NDP Provincial Director Lucy Watson.
”We’re so excited to be building this movement with them.”
The Ford Conservatives and Horwath’s New Democrats have recently put out pre-election ads, that are expected to drop off significantly in November.
That’s when parties are restricted to spending $1-million on ads in the six-months before the campaign ahead of the June 2, 2022 election.
However, the NDP’s expected to match the Conservatives dollar for dollar in pre-election advertising.
Campaign Director Michael Balagus says the NDP’s taking advantage of the slightly more than $2-million it’s raised so far this year, as well as a multi-million dollar surplus from the end of last year.
Elections Ontario reports the PC Party has raised $5-million from 8,482 individual donations while the Ontario Liberals have raised $600,000 from 3,300 donations so far this year.
