The late singer, composer and musician Prince is one step closer to receiving American’s highest civilian honour — the Congressional Gold Medal.
Minnesota’s Congressional delegation is backing a resolution to posthumously honour the pop superstar.
Senator Amy Klobuchar issued a statement saying the world is a whole lot cooler because Prince was in it.
The legislation will honour Prince’s memory and contributions as a composer, performer, and music innovator.
He died is 2016, of an accidental fentanyl overdose at age 57.
Past recipents of the medal include George Washington, Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama.
