No matter what type of music you’re into, you have probably heard the bluegrass tune “Rocky Top” at one time or another.

It was the biggest hit for the Osborne Brothers and paid homage to a mountain just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was so popular, it was adopted by the State of Tennessee as one of its official songs.

Sonny Osborne, the group’s co-founder and banjo player, has died.

He was 84.
