Celebrated Brazilian classical pianist Nelson Freire has died.
He’s being remembered as one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the 20th century.
As a solo artist, he toured the world and recorded major works by Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Debussy and Liszt .
His record label confirms he passed away Sunday night in Rio de Janeiro.
Nelson Friere was 77.
