Two months after Canadians went to the polls, MPs will be back on Parliament Hill.

There’s been little shift in the standings in Parliament after September’s election with the Liberals holding five more seats (160) then before the election, the NDP with one more (25) and the Conservatives, Bloc Québecois and Greens all unchanged.

There’s no shortage of issues that have cropped up in the country since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the election.

There’s still the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic recovery to deal with as well as the growing impacts of climate change on the country with the rain and flooding in B.C. the latest sign of more severe weather that’s experts have warned about for years.

Since the election, Conservative leader Erin O’Toole warned the Liberals and NDP would be forming a coalition but he’s largely stopped that accusation as no formal deal was ever in place.
