An eight-year-old girl was killed and members of a Girl Guide troop are among those hurt after being struck by a vehicle in London, Ontario Tuesday evening.
Police say there’s no indication it was intentional.
Ten female pedestrians, including adults and children aged six to 40, were injured.
One adult and four children are in hospital in fair condition, one child is in good condition, and one teen and two children were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police say a vehicle driven by a 76-year-old woman, hit a vehicle stopped at a red light, continued through the intersection, mounted the curb, hit a light post and tree before striking the pedestrians.
There’s no indication this was intentional.
The driver remained on scene but police are looking to speak to the driver of the vehicle that was hit, who did not stay behind.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, London Mayor Ed Holder and Premier Doug Ford have extended their condolences.
Ford was expected to visit the crash site this afternoon.
