As of Tuesday December 21st, travellers re-entering Canada from the U.S. after trips that were shorter than 72 hours will once again need to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test.
It was just last month, the Trudeau Liberals announced they were dropping the negative test requirement for fully vaccinated Canadians returning home from short trips to the U.S.
But because of the Omicron variant, that rule has been changed so now all travellers entering or re-entering Canada will need to show proof of a negative test.
Canadians have been advised since Wednesday December 15th to avoid non-essential travel outside of the country.
