Quebec is imposing a curfew, closing indoor dining at restaurants and delaying a return to school until January 17th as that province deals with an explosion of COVID cases.
“The curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. will start tomorrow night, unfortunately, all indoor sports will have to stop, places of worship will have to close except for funerals limited to 25 people,” said Premier Francois Legault.
He also says if people do not have a reason for being out of their homes between these hours, they risk a fine of between $1,000 and $6,000 dollars.
Indoor gatherings involving more than one household bubble will also be prohibited and working remotely is mandatory for now.
All non-essential businesses must close on Sundays.
The new restrictions will take effect tomorrow, December 31st, at 5 pm.
