The group representing the province’s registered nurses is criticizing the Ford government’s new public health measures.

The Registered Nurses Association of Ontario say Ontario is surrendering in its efforts to keep on top of data, testing, serious public health measures, and ultimately, the health of Ontarians.

In a statement, RNAO C-E-O Doris Grinspun says the measures are proof big business interests are the priority over the future of the province’s children.

Grinspun said: “we share the goal of keeping schools open, but non-essential large gatherings should be closed so that we can keep schools safe and health-care services viable. Given that the government is not imposing proper public health-care measures and yet decided to
reopen schools, they must provide KN95 masks to all children as most families can’t afford the cost of them. ”

The RNAO says the cutting in half of isolation measures is an admission testing in the province is overwhelmed.

They add many workers can’t afford to miss work and their families will pay the price.
