As demand has outpaced supply, the Trudeau government says another 140-million rapid tests will be delivered to Ontario and the other provinces and territories this month.
Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says they will be allocated on a per-capita basis, and that there are enough to provide ”one rapid test per week, per person, in Canada for January.”
Before December, Ottawa said it had delivered 85-million tests, then as Omicron began rapidly spreading last month, the government sent out another 35-million.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says rapid testing will be key to blunting COVID-19 cases.
”We’re looking at a better spring as long as we all keep doing our part.”
