About 600 road plows, 360 sidewalk plows and 200 salt trucks are working 24/7 until the clean-up of the major storm is complete.
As of this morning, Toronto Mayor John Tory says a combined 11 rounds of plowing on expressways, 14 on arterial roads and 11 on collector roads.
Crews are still working on all residential roads; many of which have only seen the plows go through once.
The goal’s to have a second round done today.
Residents can track plows in their neighbourhoods by using the PlowTO map on www.toronto.ca/PlowTO.
The mayor says crews are experiencing challenges due to abandoned or parked cars.
Snow clearing will continue throughout today and tomorrow, after which the City will start removing the snow, and parking on roads designated as snow routes is prohibited for 72-hours.
These routes are mostly located in the downtown core and include all streetcar routes.
Any vehicles parked along these routes will be towed to designated snow storage sites with drivers facing a fine of up to $200.
