Canada’s smallest province proved to be a big stumper for the best and brightest on Jeopardy Wednesday night.

Ken Jennings To Guest Host 'Jeopardy!' After Alex Trebek's Death : NPR

The category was “local nicknames” during Double Jeopardy.

The answer was: “A spud islander is a resident of this Canadian province known for its potatoes.”

The question, of course, was Prince Edward Island.

But host Ken Jennings was met with silence. He couldn’t even get a guess from the three contestants–including Amy Schneider, the show’s current long-running champ.

It didn’t appear that Jennings even knew the answer. When nobody buzzed in, Jennings shrugged and said: “apparently, Prince Edward Island is known for its potatoes.”

Schneider went onto win the game. Her win streak is at 36 games. She’s earned over $1.18-million USD.
