The prime minister feels the so-called ”freedom convoy” is no longer just about the federal vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers.
Justin Trudeau believes it has morphed into a forum for a small number of ”very angry” people against all public health measures.
”Canadians are not represented by this very troubling, small but very vocal minority of Canadians who are lashing out at science, at government, at society, at mandates and public health advice.”
The prime minister says he’s not worried that much of the anger’s directed at him but adds threats of violence should not go with the territory for anyone who serves; be they politicians or healthcare workers.
Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly says he’s working with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, RCMP and other agencies to identify any potential threats to public safety.
