Ousted leader Erin O’Toole says he accepts the caucus vote against him saying “I’ve had my moment, my time at the microphone.”
He also offered his parting thoughts on what the party needs.
“This country needs a Conservative party that is both an intellectual force and a governing force,” he says. “Ideology without power is vanity, seeking power without ideology is hubris.”
“I pledge my support and unwavering loyalty to our next leader and I urge everyone in our party to come together and do the same.” he continued.
He told his wife and children they’ll be seeing more of him than they did over the past 18 months.
O’Toole will continue to serve as MP for Durham.
