As the truck protest in Ottawa against COVID-19 measures and mandates approaches one week, the police chief has said all options for ending it are on the table.
Peter Sloly says that includes the possibility of calling in the military.
But Justin Trudeau says one has to be ”very, very cautious” before deploying the military in situations engaging Canadians.
”It is not something that anyone should enter in lightly, but as of now there have been no requests, and that is not in the cards right now,” adds the prime minister.
Trudeau says any formal requests for assistance from either the City of Ottawa or Ontario will be considered.
