Charles Hamelin has become Canada’s most decorated male winter Olympian after the short-track speedskating team won the gold medal in the men’s five-thousand-metre relay.

It was Hamelin’s sixth career medal, which puts him in a tie with the most decorated women’s Winter Olympian, Cindy Klassen.

At age 37, Hamelin broke his own record as the oldest male short track skater to win an Olympic medal.

South Korea was second and Italy won the bronze.

Canada is now in fifth place in the Beijing medal count with 18, including 3 golds.
