A Toronto transit bus driver is in hospital and expected to recover fully after being stabbed multiple times allegedly over a fare dispute.
Police say the suspects — a group of males in their early teens — fled the scene near Keele and Lawrence.
Inspector Richard Harris says this is the second time in a week a TTC employee has been stabbed while on the job.
“I haven’t had a full conversation with TTC staff but of course they are concerned as are we,”said Inspector Harris.
The injured bus driver is in his 50`s and has been with the TTC for over 20 years.
In last week’s incident, another worker the transit agency was stabbed in the back at Dupont Station.
A suspect was charged with assault with a weapon in that incident.
