No injuries have been reported as heavily armed police officers; many in riot gear, including gas masks and tear-gas guns, are advancing against a crowd of protesters.
The officers continue warning them to clear the area or they’ll be arrested.
At least 21 have been taken into custody, including at least 3 organizers, while 21 vehicles have been towed.
Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino says the last 24 hours mark a turning point in the effort to end the occupation as officers from far away as Vancouver have joined the operation.
At the same time, Mendicino adds the progress made to clear border blockades is not cast in stone, pointing out that there have been several failed attempts to block ports of entry again, including at the Ambassador Bridge.
Lawyers for the City of Windsor are in court asking a judge to extend an injunction prohibiting any further blockades there.

The city argues there’s a threat by protesters to reoccupy the bridge, while the lawyer for a group calling itself ”Citizens of Freedoms” contends the injunction is no longer needed since traffic’s flowing again.
