The war in Ukraine wasn’t far from mind at Sunday night’s Screen Actors’ Guild Awards in Santa Monica, California.
Popular HBO show “Succession” won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. While delivering his acceptance speech, star Brian Cox paid tribute to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who came to politics after rising to prominence in the entertainment world in Ukraine.
“The President of Ukraine was a comic,” said Cox. “He was a wonderful comic performer and we should respect that for him. And to come to the presidency is amazing.”
Cox, who was recently on the cover of Zoomer Magazine urged dissenters against the Russian war to speak out forcefully about what is going on.
