As of Monday February 28th, global travel restrictions have officially eased for people leaving Canada and for those travellers arriving back in this country.
As COVID-19 cases decline, the non-essential travel advisory has been lifted, but people are still warned of the risks associated with international travel during a pandemic.
And now fully vaccinated international travellers are allowed to show proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test upon arrival rather than the more expensive PCR test.
A rapid antigen test must be taken within 24 hours of arrival, whereas the PCR test may be taken up to 72 hours before arrival.
There will also still be random testing for vaccinated travellers entering Canada.
