Toronto’s Vax-TO campaign is shifting to focus on third doses for older adults.
Mayor John Tory the team will make phone calls to older residents to encourage them to get their third vaccine dose.
“The calls will target those 50 and older as this is the age most at risk of severe illness in the event they contract COVID-19,” said Tory. “If you look at the most recent Toronto data, it shows among those 60 and older with only two vaccine doses were four times more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 illness than those who received three doses.”
The city is also offering 22 vaccine clinics in twelve Toronto libraries for all three doses on a walk in basis.
