The company behind Oxycontin has reached an agreement with the U.S. government over its role the opioid epidemic.
Purdue Pharma will pay $6-billion as part of its settlement.
The Sackler family, which owns the company, is also apologizing.
Several states had rejected an earlier offer over a lack of cash contributions. There was also no apology.
This deal also includes immunity for the Sackler family from civil lawsuits.
The terms still have to be approved by a judge.
