As expected, Canada’s inflation rate in February soared to highs not seen in decades.
Statistics Canada says the consumer price index jumped 5.7 percent year over year in February.
Economists had forecast yet another jump as consumers saw major price jumps in at the pumps and in grocery stores.
It’s the biggest jump since a 6% jump in August of 1991.
Inflation’s year-over-year gain in January was at 5.1%.
