Some of the biggest names in tennis are donating to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

Swiss tennis star Roger Federer’s foundation is making a $500,000 donation to create access to continued schooling for Ukrainian children.

Federer says he and his family stand for peace and have been horrified at the pictures coming out of Ukraine, writing that they’re heartbroken for the innocent people who have been so terribly affected.

And three-time major champion Andy Murray announced he’s donating his earnings for the rest of the year to efforts aimed at helping children in Ukraine.

And Novak Djokovic has pledged financial support to Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky, who has joined the fight to protect his country from the Russian invasion. Stakhovsky signed up for Ukraine’s military reserves.

And Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev famously advocated for peace when last month at the start of the war, he “No war please” on the camera after his win. Writing on the lens is a common practice after tennis matches.
