Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard is set to be extradited to the U.S to faces sex-related charges there but only after his criminal case in Canada has been completed.
Canada’s Justice Minister David Lametti issued that order Tuesday by saying it’s important that the Canadian legal process run its course.
The 80-year-old Nygard was first arrested in Winnipeg last year after being charged with sex-related offences in New York.
He was later charged in Toronto with sexual assault and forcible confinement in alleged incidents dating back to in the late ’80s.
Nygard has denied all the allegations.
A Toronto court previously rejected his bid to be released on bail.
