TV'S HENRY ALDRICH DEAD AT 98

Zoomers of a certain vintage will almost certainly be transported back to the 1940s when they hears about Henry Aldrich.

His is TV shows always opened with his mother called “Hennry, Henry Aldrich” and him replying, “Coming mother.”

Actor Jimmy Lydon, who played Aldrich on television and in the movies has died.

Lydon made his Broadway debut that year at age 14 and went on to an acting career that spanned half a century with nearly 150 movie and TV credits.

Beginning in the early 1960s, he was also an associate producer on shows including the detective drama “77 Sunset Strip” and the World War II sitcom “Mister Roberts.”  He later branched into TV writing and directing.

His passing was confirmed by his daughter, however cause wasn’t given.

Jimmy Lydon was 98.
