A pristine poster promoting the Beatles last performance at New York’s Shea Stadium in 1966 has sold at auction for $275-thousand. That shatters the previous high water mark of $150-thousand shared by both the Shea Stadium poster and another promoting the shows Hank Williams never gave on New Year’s Day 1953 in Canton, Ohio.

The Beatles Shea Stadium appearance in 1966 was not only billed as their final New York appearance but also marked the last commercial tour the band would undertake. That tour involved nineteen performances and included two concerts in Canada.
