Toronto’s mayor says he takes it as ”great recognition” that the Kremlin’s hearing what he’s saying.
John Tory was reacting to news he’s among 61 Canadians not welcome in Russia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added them to what it calls its ”stop list,” banning them from entering the country indefinitely.

”No sanctions will ever stop or diminish my support for peace, democracy and the rule of law, and my support for the people of Ukraine,” Tory said in a statement.
Doug Ford is among 5 premiers also on the list along with Canada’s Ambassador to the UN Bob Rae and former federal Liberal cabinet minister Lloyd Axworthy.
”The old saying is that you’re well known by the company you keep and by the company that doesn’t like you,” he said.
”It’s not surprising but it indicates to me how silly they really are.”
The move comes after Canada announced its own new round of sanctions targeting individuals with ties to the Kremlin, including Vladimir Putin’s daughters.
