A series created by the Duchess of Sussex, that was to be carried on Netflix, has been “quietly cancelled.”
According to deadline.com, the 40 year old Meghan, who’s been married to Prince Harry since 2018 , had been set to produce the animated series ‘Pearl’ for the streaming giant.
The Duchess created the series through the couple’s Archewell Productions company and had described it as a family series that centres on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a variety of influential women throughout history. The co-producer was David Furnish, husband to Sir Elton John.
No reason has been given for the cancellation of production.
Brown, author of The Palace Papers, on the Zoomer Week in Review.
Brown spoke about how Meghan had wanted to advance women’s causes prior to marrying into the Royal Family, and was likely taken aback when her duties were mostly photo ops.
“I don’t think that Meghan fully understood that would be most of her portfolio doing things that she considered not at all interesting,” Brown explained, “A modern woman probably would not.”
