The melancholy sound of Ukrainian violinist Vera Lytovchenko’s music has echoed over the past eight weeks in subway stations and bomb shelters as she has tried to console her countrymen.

Now, a new music video called “The Brave Ones” has her in an online collaboration with more than 200 artists from various nations including Canada, the U.S., South Africa and Japan.

The video includes news footage of neighborhoods reduced to rubble and the mournful but enduring faces of the people of Ukraine.

The video is also a fund raiser with all proceeds going to humanitarian aid for musicians in Ukraine.

So far it’s raised more than $20,000.
