At 86, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jerry Lee Lewis wore a red sequined jacket and white shoes at an event announcing that he’s finally joining the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Over the years, Lewis has been vocal about being snubbed from the Country Music Hall of Fame.
His career was nearly derailed over the scandal of his marriage to his 13-year-old cousin in 1958.
Lewis, nicknamed “The Killer” is one of only a handful of artists to be in both music halls. His songs like “When You Say Nothing at All” had a lasting impression on the genre.
His fellow inductees will be the late country singer Keith Whitley and music executive Joe Galante.
