Toronto Public Health’s now reporting
two more suspected cases and one new probable case.
All of these cases are in men — two in their 30s, one in his 20s — and health officials say they’re ”doing well.”
One of them had gone to Montreal and was a contact of the first suspected case Toronto Public Health said it was investigating over the weekend.
That first case involved a man in his 40s who had contact with someone who’d recently travelled to Montreal.
That’s now considered a probable case.
Quebec’s reported at least 15 confirmed cases.
Monkeypox is a rare disease that comes from the same family of viruses that causes smallpox, which was declared eradicated in 1980.
Health officials have said the risk it poses are low.
